I've been tattooing professionally for about 10 years now. I began painting with my grandmother at an early age in Mississippi. After moving to the west coast I eventually translated my painting techniques into a self taught tattooing style that I'm continuing to refine. For the last few years I've traveled quite a bit, working, and learning all across the U.S, as well as Switzerland, France, and most recently at the 10th annual London tattoo convention. I enjoy tattooing realistic imagery, portraits, feminine imagery, and freehand designs. I do many bright colorful pieces, although lately I've been working a lot more in black and grey as well. In the future I hope to learn many more approaches to style and technique from all the amazing artists I have the good fortune of working with, and look forward to redefining my work in both painting, and tattooing.
At the age of 15 I gave myself my first tattoo, and from there I was hooked. I was born and raised in Alaska. It was there that I began my life long passion for art. I moved to the Southern Oregon coast in my teens. I attended a few college art classes and later ended up enrolling in The Southern Oregon Art Academy. I love to tattoo plants and animals with a lot of color. I am truly grateful and honored to be a part of the Sweetwater family. See you in the shop.
I was born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. When I was younger, I never took art very seriously or considered it could be full-time career. The extent of my artistic prowess was doodling stuff in class and on books instead of doing what I was supposed to. I got my start in tattooing almost immediately after getting my very first tattoo. Once I understood the process of tattooing, I was hooked.
I volunteered as counter staff at a shop before securing an unpaid apprenticeship, then finally did my first professional tattoo in 2009. I recently relocated to Southern Oregon because of my wife's job. I was fortunate enough to meet fellow Mississippian Johnny Smith and joined the Sweetwater Collective team in March of 2016. Some of my favorite styles to tattoo are color illustrations, new school traditional, cover-ups and the occasional black and grey. However, I'm always up for new ideas and challenges to push my tattooing abilities into the next level.
